Tool #2

1. What are your thoughts about building an online education community and participating in a PLN?
An online education community is a wonderful thing. It has always been my experience that the kids have a more concrete idea of a new concept if they can experience it for themselves. Tapping into a world of knowledge will be excellent in creating lifelong learners.

2. What point stood out to you from commenting advise?
In one of the videos the man was discussing the importance of having the students participate in a PLN. One of the points he made was interesting to me, he stated that schools are acting like the students are not intergrated into technology and experimenting with it already, when in fact they are more immersed then we are. So it is within our role as educators to help them navigate through the internet safely and educate them on cyberbullying, appropriate sites, and all of the other new roadbumps that technology brings so they can be productive while surfing.

3. What 5 blogs did you select for your comments?
a. Kind Kindergarteners: I enjoyed her reflections and applications of technology into her classroom.
b. Thornwood Tigers: Commented on great ideas for effective communication.
c. Superthorn3: Commented on the effectivness of the video created, a great conversation starter.
d. Thornwood Music: Commented on her blog layout. Awesome! Told her it made me head back to mine and want to revamp. I love seeing peoples creativity.
e. Aggiemoms blog: I like the support I saw on her page. I am new to Tornwood and it all makes me excited about getting started there.
